Automobile layout refers to the design of the vehicle as a whole.
Various components and assemblies that convert the engine's power to the wheel's power are depicted in the layout.
In addition, the layout shows the relative positioning of all drive-related components.
The various components, their relative location, and purposes are as follows:

Frame: The frame is the basic metallic structure on which various other components/assemblies are mounted.
It is connected after the engine and transfers power from the engine to the gearbox at the driver's command. At the foot region of the driver's cabin is a pedal that engages and disengages the clutch and drive.
Engine: The engine consists of an internal combustion engine that transforms the thermal energy of fuel into mechanical rotary energy.
Gearbox: The gearbox is the next element in the drive chain. It provides the necessary variation in torque from the engine to the propeller shaft.
Propeller Shaft: Located between the gearbox output shaft and the differential on the rear axle, it compensates for shaft misalignment caused by uneven road surfaces.
Differential: The differential transfers power from the propeller shaft to the rear wheels.
• It ensures an equal distribution of torque between the two wheels regardless of their relative speeds.
Wheels: Wheels are the last link in the drive chain. They support the load of the vehicle and passengers.
Electrical Equipment: In addition to the starter, alternator, etc., the layout identifies various equipment.
